Governance
Clarence Landcare’s committee oversees and steers the organisation by setting strategic direction and providing governance. The voluntary executive committee is comprised of nominated delegates from member groups and individuals from the community.
What does ‘governance’ mean?
The term Governance refers to the procedures and practices which Landcare groups use in carrying out their activities. Good governance ensures that guidelines are followed for all procedures such as keeping records and reporting, meeting safety management requirements, and compliance with a code of conduct. Our Landcare committee members ensure that all aspects of running our local groups are conducted according to good governance principles so that our activities and operations meet legal requirements, have probity, are transparent and are accountable. These procedures help us to effectively achieve our aim of protecting the land and biodiversity.
